Hurricane Ike Operations Update

South Hampton facility had power restored at approximately 6:30pm on Tuesday, Sept. 16. The operations personnel started warming up and drying out to bring the process on line in an orderly fashion, being on the lookout for indications of hidden damage. At this time nothing out of the ordinary has occurred. There have been a couple of pump seal leaks which we routinely see after the units have been cold for some time. We are heating up slower than normal but should be making good C5 products by this evening, with C6’s coming on line tonight or early on Thursday. Delivery by truck will resume at a normal rate by tomorrow. We understand from the railroad that they are surveying and clearing tracks and barring any major damage to bridges, should resume operations by Friday or Saturday, if not sooner. We have feedstock available for about three week’s operations and assume the pipelines will be operating prior to that issue arising. It seems that power outages are a larger factor than damage in most industries in the southeast Texas area so resumption of normal operations will return as power is restored.
